Dinosaur Jr. (US) celebrating 30 years of 'Where You Been' Australia & New Zealand February & March 2024
4 Oct 2023Frontier Touring are thrilled to welcome legendary US rock band Dinosaur Jr. as they make their return to Australia & New Zealand for a series of headline shows in February & March 2024.
Heading to Australia celebrating 30 years of their iconic album Where You Been, Dinosaur Jr. will perform in Sydney on Wednesday 21 February for a show at Enmore Theatre, to The Tivoli in Brisbane on Friday 23 February then over to Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall for a performance on Monday 26 February and to Perth’s Astor Theatre on Wednesday 28 February before heading over to Auckland’s Town Hall for a final show on Saturday 2 March.
Frontier Member presale kicks off Thursday 5 October, 2pm local time before the on sale, Tuesday 10 October, 2pm local time.
The band will also perform at Tent Pole: A Musical Jamboree in Geelong on Saturday 17 February, alongside renowned Scottish indie pioneers Mogwai, nu-folk, alt-country legends Calexico and more. Last in Australia in 2017, performing shows across the country, with a reputation as one of the formative influences on American alternative rock, Dinosaur Jr. - J Mascis (guitar, vocals, primary songwriter), Lou Barlow (bass, vocals), and Murph (drums) – are ready to bring the classics down under. With over 14 albums to date and more than 30 years performing live on stage as a band, Dinosaur Jr are bringing their best live set to date to Australia & New Zealand.
Recently releasing their latest live album Emptiness At The Sinclair, recorded at the Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dinosaur Jr. proved yet again their musicality and artistry only continues to soar with Post Trash claiming “all of it is high quality…the ferocity and devotion of a Dinosaur Jr live show is still there, and as usual, sometimes you cannot make out the difference whether it is a live rendition or a studio version.”

2023 marks a special year for the band. Celebrating 30 years since the release of their influential 1993 grunge album Where You Been, they headed on tour across the globe, including five upcoming sold-out headline shows at The Garage London as well as multiple sellout dates across the US. The band have also performed festival slots at Spain’s Primavera Weekender, Germany’s Rolling Stone Beach and Mempho Music Hall in Memphis this year.
