    About Jimmy Rees

Jimmy has been entertaining Australians for more than a decade.  From 2009 – 2019 he was the Giggle on ABC’s Giggle & Hoot, with Jimmy Giggle and his sidekick Hoot keeping the nation's children entertained and getting to bed on time…

In 2019 Jimmy began his transition into primetime TV as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars

It was in during the pandemic though, that Jimmy Rees really crossed over to multi-generational entertainer. In Melbourne during the extended lockdown Jimmy started releasing comedy content gathering four million social media followers, 43 million likes on TikTok and extraordinary 200 million viewing minutes last year on Facebook alone.

His Dan Andrew’s media conference parodies gaining more daily viewers than the actual media conferences, Jimmy’s hilarious social comedy and razor-sharp observational humour resonating with all ages, from The Guy Who Decides (and Jason…. shut up Jason!) to the Brighton Ladies to the Meanwhile in Australia series and his POV takes on just about every city and profession.

Jimmy has become one of the most followed, versatile and loved entertainers.

In 2022, Jimmy went on his first headline tour, named Meanwhile In Australia. Announcing 5 shows, the tour grew to 34 sold-out shows, in the major cities - making it one of the biggest comedy tours of recent years.

Encouraged by the nations enthusiasm Jimmy toured the major cities again in 2023 with his Not That Kinda Viral tour, and again the demand was extraordinary, with Jimmy doing another 24 big shows.

2023 has been another big year for Jimmy as his appeal and diversity grows… aside from his Not That Kinda Viral tour, Jimmy had a 10 week stint on Network TEN’s Taskmaster alongside Julia Morris, Tom Gleeson, Luke McGregor and many more of the nation's finest comedians.  He also has a guest role in the Australian film Jones Family Christmas (out November 23 on Stan) alongside Heather Mitchell, Max McKenna and Marg Downey, is nominated in the TikTok Comedy Creator of the Year category at the TikTok Awards to be held in Sydney Wed 6 Dec and is currently the face of Audible Australia – check out his top 10 picks here
