Frontier Touring is excited to announce Aussie singer-songwriter Adam Newling will join US indie-folk rockers Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners on their Australian debut tour, heading our way next month!  

Newling joins the group as special guest on all shows, with the tour kicking off at The Triffid in Brisbane on Tuesday 25 February, before heading to Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Wednesday 26 February and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Thursday 27 February.

Raised in Cronulla born to first-generation Greek mother and Aussie father, singer-songwriter Adam Newling is an alternative artist who utilises country sensibilities and eclectic knowledge of sound in his music to unprecedented effect. With big dreams of one day performing in the heart of Nashville, he has arrived to light up our hearts, guitar in hand. 

Newling has taken this driving passion for music and has taken it onto the road, playing with a vast range of wonderfully talented folks such as the inimitable Ruby Fields, who have taught him lessons that he will take with him forever. Currently travelling around Australia on his Love Takes Care Tour – his biggest solo tour to date – Adam Newling is more ready than ever to endeavour on his very own debut project, making songs that feel unabashedly special, and overwhelmingly urgent. 

Inspired by the likes of Buck Meek of Big Thief and solo fame, who has set the benchmark for uniqueness in an oversaturated world, and the captivating, dream-like music of Molly Burch, it is clear as day that Newling is influenced by exceptional creatives. In the same vein as these artists, and many others who create country-tinged indie rock, Newling hopes to shine a light in the dark, fusing unabashed creativity with heartfelt lyricism. 

Growing up in Colorado Springs, longtime friends Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners – Mitch Cutts, Nic Haughn and Jakob Ervin – were catapulted into the spotlight when their 2017 track ‘Evergreen’ gained widespread recognition online in 2024, with the track reaching platinum certified status in the US, UK and New Zealand and giving the band their first Billboard Hot 100 entry.   

Fully immersing themselves in the writing and recording process of each project, the band have since produced two follow up albums – Solstice (2018) and Subliming (2019) – both exemplifying passion and dedication to create and perfect their craft.   

On a trajectory to becoming a household name in folk rock, the global reach of ‘Evergreen’ has seen the band perform across headline shows and festival sets across North America and now heading to Australia for the first time.
