Sorcha Richardson announces Perth & Melbourne debut headline shows this March | Also playing Misneach Festival, Sydney
16 Jan 2025Frontier Touring is proud to announce acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson will embark on her first-ever Australian live shows in March 2025, bringing her evocative storytelling and poignant melodies to audiences down under. With a reputation as “one of Ireland’s most intriguing songwriters” (The Irish Times), Richardson’s debut in Australia promises to be one of 2025’s most captivating tours.
Already announced as part of the line-up for Sydney’s inaugural MISNEACH Festival – the event curated by Irish superstar Dermot Kennedy and taking place in The Domain, Sydney, on Sunday 16 March, tickets on sale now – Sorcha will also perform two special headline shows in WA and VIC. Perth fans can catch her on Tuesday 11 March at new bar Four5Nine at Rosemount Hotel, followed by a performance on Friday 14 March at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club. Ever since the release of her 2019 debut album First Prize Bravery, Richardson has been making waves. The record, a heartfelt exploration of young adulthood, saw her navigate her experiences of living in New York, Los Angeles, and Dublin and garnered critical acclaim from media such as Nylon, The Guardian, and BBC6 Music, the record earning Richardson her first RTE Choice Music Prize nomination. Sorcha will be releasing an exclusive edition of her breakthrough record First Prize Bravery on vinyl with special bonus track “Map of Manhattan” via Impressed Records, alongside her inaugural Australian shows.
Her 2022 follow-up album, Smiling Like an Idiot, took Richardson’s artistry to new heights. Reaching #4 on the Irish Album Charts, it solidified Richardson’s reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting lyricists. The album’s standout single, ‘Shark Eyes’, even caught the attention of global pop star Ellie Goulding, who recorded her own cover.
Richardson has toured alongside critically acclaimed acts such as Mitski, Villagers, and James Vincent McMorrow, captivating audiences with her raw, emotional delivery and magnetic stage presence.
