Sorry (UK) announce debut headline Australia & New Zealand tour | October 2023

    25 Jul 2023

I OH YOU and Frontier Touring are excited to announce critically acclaimed British indie band Sorry will make their way to Australia & New Zealand in October 2023, performing five headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington.

Currently on a 20-date European tour following the release of their acclaimed latest album, Anywhere But Here (out now via Domino), Sorry emerged from Brixton’s Windmill scene, where they played alongside Shame, Goat Girl and Black Midi. Sorry have created their own distinctive musical world – one that draws together a shared passion for lo-fi sounds of grunge, trap, and shoegaze. As one of the UK’s hottest rising outfits, 2022’s Anywhere But Here was described by NME as “frequently taking sudden turns that you don’t see coming”.

Tickets will go on sale Friday 28 July (1pm local time) via frontiertouring.com/sorry. Sign up for early ticket access to the Frontier Members Presale, which starts Wednesday 26 July (11am local time – see website for more info).

Watch: Sorry – Let The Lights On

Sorry – Asha Lorenz (vox/guitar), Louis O’Bryen (vox/guitar), Lincoln Barrett (drums), Campbell Baum (bass) and Marco Pini (electronics) – began as a duo, high school friends Asha and Louis releasing solo projects via Soundcloud before merging their talents. Signing to Domino in 2020 (home to heavyweights Arctic Monkeys, Hot Chip and Franz Ferdinand), the band released debut studio album 925 – produced by Lana Del Rey and Gorillaz producer, Jamie Dring – in 2020 to rave reviews. triple j labelled it “the best debut album of the year”, while Pitchfork defined the project as a “deeply self-aware debut worthy of being taken seriously even when it’s not serious”. The release led the band to performing sold-out shows across Europe, a showcase at SXSW in 2021, and a spot at Glastonbury in 2022.

‘[Sorry] swerve from hints of the Kinks to traces of Lou Reed with lyrics of pure youthful dread in this reflective, honest album’ – ★★★★ The Guardian

‘Sorry don’t make music like any of their British guitar-band contemporaries. Their songs are swampy and experimental yet filled with hooks and melodies that make them accessible’ – triple j

‘…The London band folds classic pop tropes into its songwriting – just the latest surprise from a group that has always kept listeners on their toes’ – Pitchfork

Sorry kicked off their Anywhere But Here World Tour in late 2022, their biggest tour to date, performing sold-out shows across Europe and the UK as well as debut performances in the US and Canada. Now, they’ll will visit Australia and New Zealand for the first time in our Spring.  While in Australia, Sorry will also perform at the inaugural SXSW Sydney, as well as taking the stage at Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong, NSW**.

A band with a devoted following on both sides of the Atlantic, don’t miss UK band Sorry this October!
