At just 23 years of age, the classically trained pianist and singer has already made her mark on the international music scene. Her fusion of old school soul, influenced by the likes of Roberta Flack, Oscar Peterson, Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder,and contemporary R&B has endeared her to both critics and fans alike.Flack herself describes Keys as "the quintessential example right now of what someone with real, deep-rooted talent can do."
In 2001, springing from relative obscurity, Keys released her first album Songs in A Minor, from which the chart-topping single Fallin' was spawned. The album won critical acclaim worldwide, and earned Keys a swag of music awards, including five Grammys.
