NOVEMBER AUSTRALIAN TOUR!

ELVIS COSTELLO has followed his musical curiosity in a career spanning more than 25 years. He is perhaps best known for his performances with The Attractions, The Imposters and for recent concert appearances with pianist, Steve Nieve.

Add to that collaborations with Burt Bacharach, The Brodsky Quartet, Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie Von Otter and record producer/songwriter T Bone Burnett to name a few, and it's no wonder Costello continues to inspire and delight music fans around the world.

This year Costello has reunited with the Imposters to record a new studio album "The Delivery Man" (featuring appearances by Lucinda Williams and Emmylou Harris) released September 19 worldwide. For many fans, it's back to what Elvis does best – poignant, classic pop, toe-tapping musical majesty.

And in support of the album, lucky us, Costello will return to Australia in November for his most extensive national outing ever. The tour will be a combination of theatre shows (Frontier Touring) and "a day on the green" outdoor winery concerts (Roundhouse Entertainment) and will see Costello perform from Perth to Tasmania to the Hunter Valley.

Costello has always been a favoured son in Australia. With a body of work including "This Year's Model", "Imperial Bedroom", "King Of America", 'All This Useless Beauty' and 2002's "When I Was Cruel", with the Imposters - Nieve, bassist Davey Farragher and drummer Pete Thomas – out back, and a new bride to inspire his muse, the tip is Costello is in red hot form. His Australian concerts will feature songs covering his entire career.

Since his last Australian visit in 2001, he has, as always, tackled an extraordinary range of projects. The "When I was Cruel" album was nominated for three Grammy's the same year he was awarded ASCAP's prestigious Founder's Award and was inducted into the Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame.

His next album "North", piano ballads, composed, orchestrated and conducted by Costello, retained the #1 spot on the Billboard Jazz chart for 5 weeks. He began a songwriting partnership with wife, jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall, resulting in 6 songs on her recent album "The Girl In The Other Room".

This year he has written his first full length orchestral work "Oil Sogno" which has been recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, to be released on the Deutsche Grammophon label. The work premiered at the Lincoln Festival in New York City in July.

But for now, this multi-talented performer is back to his pop roots and expectation runs high for the new album "The Delivery Man" and the concert tour to support it.
