TOURING AUSTRALIA THIS OCTOBER

"Lanegan possesses the finest rock voice of his generation. A ragged Marlboro-stained, whiskey-ravaged baritone bark it might be, but it's the way Lanegan manages to ebb melancholy–soaked anguish from every crevice of the English language and make ever slurred syllable sound like a sordid after-hours request that confirms his lofty status. Lanegan has a voice that could terrify children and console you in your darkest hour. A voice that could strip paint and charm the birds out of the sky. That's diversity; that's a voice." NME 3/8/04

Mark Lanegan is, in the words of NME, "the antithesis of the Pop Idol conveyor belt ". So we trust we won't be messing with any of your TV viewing in October when we announce that Mark Lanegan will be bringing his awesome musical talents to our shores.

Mark Lanegan captured legions of fans and a place in music history with his roles as frontman for Screaming Trees and vocalist for Queens Of The Stone Age. Yet it is his latest solo work that has most recently had music reviewers abuzz.

And despite the name, there's nothing fluffy about his latest album Bubblegum (out now through Remote Control). The Melbourne Age called it "a modern-day classic from one of rock's great survivors, " while music OMH.com wrote "as credible as Cobain and as versatile as Homme with an unmistakable voice to die for – Lanegan is a true musician's musician."

With small venues lined up in Sydney and Melbourne and a new single Hit The City (featuring PJ Harvey) going to radio in September, it's not likely that tickets will last long for these concerts.

Tickets are on sale NOW!
