AUSTRALIA FEELS LIKE HOME
WITH A 2005 TOUR
In 2003 Norah Jones melted hearts with her soulful songs and endearingly unassuming approach to worldwide fame. Early last year Australian concert audiences encountered Norah Jones on the threshold of superstardom. Today, with more than 27 million album sales and eight Grammy Awards to her credit, The Frontier Touring Company announces the 2005 Australian Norah Jones tour.
The tour will include concerts in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and a special adayonthegreen winery appearance at Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley.
In Australia, Norah Jones sold more albums in 2003 than any other international artist. Her debut album Come Away With Me, has sold 9 x platinum, while her most recent offering Feels Like Home (EMI) went platinum on its first day of release.
And if any doubted she would be able to follow up on the phenomenal success of Come Away With Me a glance at what the critics have said of the album will end such speculation.
Rolling Stone accorded the album four stars and called it "a triumph of the low–key, at once easygoing and poignant... she's found, in two graceful albums, a whole different kind of mojo lurking inside the three-minute song. "
TIME magazine noted her "casually brilliant vocals" and Q Magazine wrote that the album was an "older and wise sequel, where the quiet magic of each song gets stronger with each listen."
As a live touring artist, Norah has continued to develop and strengthen and is receiving reviews for her current tour that suggest that in 2005 Australian's are going to need to put this tour on their must see list.
Live Daily wrote, "while Jones' music is melancholy and lovelorn, Jones... oozed charm. She won over the audience with tales of the road and stories behind her songs."
Californian Daily wrote "the music Jones made onstage demonstrated an uncanny ability to combine the intimate with the grand, rounding up the crowd with a fusion of sounds louder and more exciting than her gentle studio work... When she sat down at the piano and crooned "Seven Years" and "Turn Me On," the audience sat enthralled. Her breathy vocals lulled the crowd with its sultry, carefree spirit."
Norah Jones' upcoming Australian tour promises to be an unforgettable experience. Make sure you're in line, online, or on a phone line when tickets go on sale.
