2005 AUSTRALIAN
COAST TO COAST TOUR
WESTCOAST RAPPER & MTV HOST OF "PIMP MY RIDE" DOWN UNDER THIS MARCH
Illusive Entertainment & The Frontier Touring Company are thrilled to announce that West Coast heavyweight XZIBIT will hit Australia in March 2005 on his first Australian headline tour.
Accredited by Rolling Stone as 'becoming one of the most respected rappers in the game' ,Xzibit first came to public attention in the late '90s with his debut album At The Speed of Light (1996) and 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz (1998). Originally a member of the Likwit Crew, a collective of West Coast rappers, Xzibit enjoyed his first major success when he joined with Snoop Dogg for the Dr. Dre produced hit Bitch Please.
The Dre association continued with Some L.A. Niggaz, which led to Dre inviting Xzibit on the massive US coast to coast Up In Smoke 2000 tour, featuring the likes of Snoop, Eminem, and Ice Cube.
Xzibit's next album, the Dre-executive-produced Restless released in 2000 and his star packed Man Vs Machine with the hits Symphony in X Major and Multiply was released in 2002 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop chart. On the back of his success with Man Vs Machine, Xzibit started hosting duties on MTV's Pimp My Ride, subsequently developing an even broader fan base.
In late 2004 Xzibit released Weapons of Mass Destruction (Sony) with appearances from Busta Rhymes and Strong Arm Steady, and production from Timbaland, Battlecat, Hi-Tek and DJ Muggs.
In addition to his successes in the music arena Xzibit has been developing a portfolio in the film industry, with a cameo role in Eminem's 8 Mile, and an appearance later this year in the Jennifer Aniston suspense thriller flick Derailed. He will also appear alongside Ice Cube in the upcoming XXX sequel, XXX State of the Union.
2005 will see Xzibit hit Australia for his first ever headline tour of our shores. Performing all his underground hits plus tracks from Weapons Of Mass Destruction including the current single Hey Now (Mean Muggin) this will be an explosive hip-hop show not to be missed.
