Snow Patrol - Australian Tour

SNOW PATROL SET TO STORM AUSTRALIA
“We’re not the type of band that gives half-measures live, so every night we’re killing ourselves on stage.”
Leadsinger Gary Lightbody quoted in Melbourne’s Herald Sun, May 2006
The Frontier Touring Company is pleased to announce the much-anticipated Australian tour of Irish rock stars Snow Patrol. Already named as one of the artists on this year’s Splendour in the Grass bill, Frontier can now confirm that Snow Patrol will also perform shows in Melbourne and Sydney this July.
Since Snow Patrol’s last trip down-under two years ago, the band have been very busy, touring the globe incessantly along with writing and recording material for their brilliant new album Eyes Open (out now through Universal Music Australia). Featuring the songs “Hands Open” and “You’re All I Have”, the album has carried on from Snow Patrol’s spectacular form on Final Straw, topping the UK and Irish album charts.
Melbourne’s Herald Sun awarded the album four stars, saying “Snow Patrol main man Gary Lightbody has a way of gripping his fingers around your heart with a strength few songwriters can match… But where Lightbody really gives the old ticker a squeeze is in the realness of it all… Lightbody sings it like real people feel it… A strong, emotional album.”
Now sporting a five-man line-up – Lightbody, Nathan Connolly, Paul Wilson, Tom Simpson and Jonny Quinn – Snow Patrol’s four album back catalogue and abundance of touring experience sees the quintet deliver killer live shows time after time.
“The bond between band and fans was such that, even after "Run" had been thoroughly done and dusted at the end of the evening, everyone could probably have stayed till dawn.” The Guardian, April 2006
“Snow Patrol are one of our leading spirit raisers. Charming Ulsterman Lightbody – backed by a super tight band – is fast turning into a true stadium-sized performer… expect an Arena date come Autumn.” Manchester Evening News, May 2006
Indeed now with confirmed arena performances for the UK at years end, Australians should ensure they catch Snow Patrol live before they reach the superstar status they’ve already achieved overseas.
