Tenacious D's number one commandment is to never stop rocking, and when they arrive in January, rest assured rocking will be their number one priority.
Returning to Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2004, Tenacious D, the self-styled Greatest Band In The World, will take in Christchurch, Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as they take their expectation-shattering, acoustic rock to the fans. Spontaneous and offensive, exciting and consuming, performances by Tenacious D are not to be missed.
Returning in support of their latest movie project Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny (in cinemas January 11), Tenacious D's Jack Black and Kyle Gass have enlisted fellow rockers Meatloaf and the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl to star alongside them in what the D have hailed "the greatest cinematic piece of our time". The story follows a friendship that will change the course of rock history forever as two friends, Gass and Black, undertake a quest to find the guitar pick of magical lore that will secure their rock and roll fame and glory.
A movie starring Gass and Black isn't whole without a Tenacious D soundtrack, and The Pick of Destiny (SonyBMG) will be released November 11. Produced by the Dust Brothers' John King, the album features Meatloaf, Dave Grohl and Ronnie James Dio. The Pick of Destiny promises to be epic and builds upon the hard-rocking genius presented on the duo's debut album.
Always greeted by a rapturous audience when visiting Australia and New Zealand, Tenacious D are the perfect way to begin your New Year. Don't miss your chance to witness what could be the greatest show in the world, and make sure you take the Tenacious D ride this January.
