The Frontier Touring Company are pleased to announce LA rock band Carney will perform a headline show at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney next Wednesday 31 March with special guests The Delta Riggs.
With their vivacious energy, broad versatility and polished instrumental talents, the captivating musicians meld blues with rock to create a sound that really moves you, a sound that is uniquely Carney.
Guitarist Zane Carney describes their first single ‘Love me, Chase me’ from debut album Mr Green as “cinematic, it jumps around to different places, and in the span of five minutes, it sort of sums up what we’re capable of as a band.”
“We’ve always wanted someone to listen to our music and immediately feel like they’ve been transported to another place,” adds lead singer, Reeve Carney – who was also selected by Entertainment Weekly as one of the 10 rising stars to watch this year and has been cast to the role of Peter Parker in Spiderman on Broadway. The music to the play is composed by Bono and The Edge and whilst Reeve takes the stage, the rest of the band will be in the pit lending their skills to the orchestra.
Drummer Jon Epcar and bassist Aiden Moore round out the band, whose irresistible live performances have earned them a place on Spin Magazine’s 2009 list of ‘Hot Performances’ from renowned music festival Lollapalooza.
The band has created quite the stir on the festival scene, having also played Bonnaroo Festival and this year’s South by Southwest.
“[Carney] brought the heat with their blues-inspired electric guitar riffs…Word of mouth spreads quick at SXSW, and two days into the fest, Carney's name was falling off the lips as an act who wasn't failing to impress despite their low profile.” – Spinner.com
“Although the band is only in their early 20's, they play with a prowess that's unmatched by many of their peers…Try to catch the band touring, as that is what Carney is all about and will be doing non-stop for the foreseeable future.” – altsounds.com
The band recently sold out their last headline shows at the legendary Troubadour in LA and famed El Rey Theatre and this one night only performance is likely to follow suit. Don’t get left behind, tickets go on sale today - Thursday 25th March - 9am local time.
