MUSIC legend Jimmy Barnes has returned to his rock roots with a brand spanking new rock album and will celebrate the occasion with a national tour in October and November.
For fans yearning for their beloved Barnesy’s return to his rockin’ old ways, the wait is well and truly over as he prepares to roll out a dozen gems that make up Rage And Ruin, his 16th studio solo album which is set for release on August 27th. Already first single The Devil Knows You’re Dead has received strong airplay on radio stations nationwide – and there’s more where that came from.
From addictive mid-tempo groovers like God Or Money and Turn It Around to fired up raw, rockin’ stompers such as first single Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead and irresistible energy of Can’t Do It Again, there’s a mixed bag of goodies for everyone on the new album. If it’s a little tenderness you desire, fall under the spell of Love Can Break The Hardest Heart, and take a trip down memory lane amid the folk-charged charms of Largs Pier, a hat-tip to his wild and woolly days as a teenaged frontman for Cold Chisel.
The Rage & Ruin Concert Tour will unleash the new tracks live at shows in Victoria, South Australia, NSW, Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia and the ACT throughout a six-week period starting from October 16.
The tour also includes “Barnesy” headlining the 10th birthday celebrations of a day on the green concerts. Barnesy has been a long time a day on the green favourite and for these celebration concerts will head up a sensational artist bill featuring Vanessa Amorosi, Tex Perkins and Dan Sultan at all shows, plus a rotating list of the who’s who of Aussie rock with Mark Seymour, Ian Moss, Richard Clapton, Ross Wilson, Diesel, Michael Spiby and Swanee.
Our most famous frontman promises to showcase his new songs with gusto along with a stack of his classic hits on his favourite stomping ground - the stage.
Rage And Ruin (Liberation Music) is in stores on Friday August 27th .
