The Frontier Touring Company is thrilled to announce popular hip hop artist k-os will be returning to Australia to perform exclusive headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney this August alongside his Splendour in the Grass appearance.
“I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman” recently smashed the airwaves across the country. The track, featuring Nelly Furtado and a sample of Phantom Planet’s ‘Califonia’ has been added to Triple J and Nova on high rotation, and has put him on the public’s radar across the globe.
k-os (also known as Kheaven Brereton) has enjoyed much acclaim from his fourth studio album Yes!, featuring guest appearances from Emily Haines of Metric & Murray Lightburn of The Dears. With it’s innovative sound, Yes! made waves with “4,3,2,1” (hip hop’s response to Feist’s “1,2,3,4”) and other standout tracks such as “Burning Bridges” “Uptown girl” and “Eye Know Something, which he performed at this year’s Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
A Trinidad born and Toronto-raised musician, emcee and producer, k-os has been labelled as one of the most creative and intriguing artists in the hip hop realm.
“From acoustic folk to soul to, of course, hip-hop, k-os doesn’t let expectations hold him back” - potholesinmyblog.com
“[Yes!] is the sentiment you'll feel if you, too, have been waiting for k-os to make a deadly, no-rules rap record” - The star.com
“The latest offering from Kheaven Brereton aka k-os is far and away his best work to date” – craveonline.com
This multi-talented performer believes “Art should be like a comet. It should come out of nowhere and just smack people in the face” And his shows promise to do just that!
k-os is playing at the Prince Bandroom in Melbourne and Oxford Art Factory in Sydney. These intimate venues are sure to sell out, do not miss these shows! Tickets are on sale Wednesday 19th May @ 9am local time.
