MAROON 5 HITTING AUSTRALIAN ARENA VENUES MAY 2011

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

SARA BAREILLES & RY CUMING

Following the immense popularity of their latest offering Hands All Over, funk-pop gods Maroon 5 will return to Australia for a series of arena shows in May 2011.

The popular American quintet, led by affable front man and talented lead vocalist Adam Levine, initially rocketed to fame with their 2002 multi-platinum debut Songs About Jane which reached #2 on the ARIA Album Chart and consisted of hit singles ‘Sunday Morning, ‘She Will Be Loved’ and ‘Harder to Breathe’.

After a second Platinum album in It Won’t Be Soon Before Long and numerous Grammy, MTV Video Music and Billboard Music Awards, Maroon 5 have released their third studio album Hands All Over.

Having previously collaborated with R&B songstress Rhianna on popular single ‘If I Never See Your Face Again’; Hands All Over sees Maroon 5 join forces with Nashville chart-toppers Lady Antebellum and famed producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange.

Lange, whose prior work with industry heavyweights Def Leppard, AC/DC and Shania Twain has earned him a high degree of notoriety, invited the band to Switzerland to record Hands All Over at his studio and the result is a thrilling hybrid of rock, pop, funk and R&B showcasing Levin’s soulfully smooth vocals set to robust riffs and enticing hooks.

Hands All Over sat sweetly in the Top 10 ARIA Albums upon its September release and has received copious praise from fans and critics:

‘On Maroon 5's third album, their already polished sound is burnished to a high-gloss glow…Levine and crew could be blue-eyed-soul godheads, the 21st-century Hall and Oates.’- Rolling Stone

‘You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who won’t move their body to the groovy tunes of Maroon 5‘s new album, Hands All Over.’ – Neon Limelight

The album is testimony to the thriving talent of Maroon 5 following an accolade laden eight year career that has left the band constantly in demand across the globe.

Maroon 5 will feel right at home in Australia’s finest arenas as fans congregate to celebrate their return.

‘They’re back and just as good as ever…’ – BBC.co.uk

‘At a moment when many musicians view stylistic specialization as a way to reach listeners overloaded with options, here's an act deeply devoted to the big-tent approach.’ – LA Times

With the exception of the Perth date, Maroon 5 will be joined on tour by Grammy nominated artist Sara Bareilles, who will captivate audiences with her impressive vocals, charming piano and guitar accompaniments and heartfelt lyrics. Her latest release Kaleidoscope Heart debuted at number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Album Chart and continues to garner positive reviews. A college friend and regular special guest of Maroon 5, Bareilles’ ‘Love Song’ launched her into the limelight and she has been winning hearts ever since.

Rounding up the bill is Australian singer-songwriter Ry Cuming. Hailing from the small coastal town of Angourie, Ry’s soulful voice and deft guitar skills quickly caught the attention of the L.A. music scene and major label JIVE records with whom he recently released his acclaimed self-titled debut earlier this year. Join us in welcoming him home as he returns to perform with Maroon 5 this May.
