Touted as one of Australia’s newest indie ‘supergroups’, New Gods features Dominic Byrne and Adrian Beltrame (of Little Red), Richard Bradbeer (of Eagle and The Worm), Dale Packard (of Ground Components) and Sam Raines.

Invigorated and revived following their previous projects, New Gods have parked themselves in a place where their music will evolve and explore new territories. The public’s first taste of this new sonic exploration came in the form of their debut self titled EP (out now through Liberation Music).

Having already toured the country alongside The Cribs, The Rubens, Gypsy & The Cat and alt-J in the short time since their inception, New Gods have firmly cemented themselves as a live band that is both captivating and masterful.

Joining Local Natives and New Gods across their East Coast tour will be blues-tinged folk band Texture Like Sun. The band is lead by the unmistakable voice of Mark Pearl (The Commas, Urthboy, TZU). Reknowned for their incredible live show and beautiful songwriting executed with charm and virtuosic skill, the band is definitely one to keep on the radar in the lead up to their debut album.

 LOCAL NATIVES RETURN TO AUSTRALIA FOR HEADLINE TOUR WITH NEW ALBUM!

The introduction of Local Natives to the international music scene in 2009 was a revelation. Their music and live shows are a deliberate brilliance of messiness and intricate harmonies creating a distinct sound that has enthralled critics and audiences alike.

With anticipation for their sophomore album Hummingbird high, The Frontier Touring Company can announce that Local Natives will be touring Australia this May!

Hummingbird (out January 25th through Liberator Music), co-produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, is the culmination of the band’s collaborative techniques and experimentation through new instruments and sounds. The band’s characteristic eclecticism has ensnared listeners with contrasts of frenzied drums, breathy vocals, pensive lyrics and swooning orchestral melodies.

Much has happened between the band’s critically acclaimed album Gorilla Manor and the imminent release of Hummingbird. Since their last visit to Australian shores, they have headlined shows across America and Europe, opened for bands The National and Arcade Fire and earned slots on the bills of major festivals around the world, garnering masses of critical acclaim along the way:

    The collaborative spirit instilled within the band’s debut LP Gorilla Manor ultimately became the foundation for Hummingbird, their most mature work so far. An evolution of their sound, the record contains the kind of composition that truly blooms when played live and the complexities of the songs flourish as all four band members take the stage.
