Following overwhelming demand from the band’s younger fans and thanks to recent changes in liquor licensing regulation, Frontier Touring are happy to confirm that American Authors’ upcoming Melbourne and Sydney shows will now be all ages events.

Changes to the Victorian liquor licensing act have reduced the red tape related to promoting and running all ages events, allowing younger members of Australia’s thriving live music scene more opportunities to see their favourite acts doing what they do best.

Tickets already purchased to the American Authors shows at Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom on Saturday 20 September and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Sunday 21 September are valid for entry with the new all ages age restriction in place – no further action is needed.

Touring in celebration of their debut album Oh, What A Life (out now through Universal), this will be the band’s first headline tour of Australia and New Zealand following a short jaunt Down Under earlier this year on a promo trip. The album features current single ‘Believer’ as well as global smash hit ‘Best Day Of My Life’ which has earned the band almost 30 million views on YouTube, 73 million streams on Spotify and seen them featured on movie soundtracks, advertising campaigns and television screens worldwide.

In a triple threat of talent, American Authors will be joined by special guests Andy Grammer and Masketta Fall on stage for their Australian shows.

Acclaimed platinum-selling Californian performer Andy Grammer will be bringing his joyously anthemic tunes to Australia for the first time since the release of his second full-length release Magazines Or Novels (out now through Liberator Music). Appearing as American Authors’ very special guest at their Australian shows, lucky fans will be treated to performances of Grammer’s smash hits including ‘Back Home’ and ‘Keep Your Head Up’.

Home grown favourites Masketta Fall will be kicking off the fun in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with their unique brand of pop punk, cheeky personalities and infectious melodies.

Frontier Touring are thrilled to confirm that acclaimed platinum-selling singer, songwriter and musician Andy Grammer will be appearing as American Authors’ very special guest on the band’s upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand, treating audiences to a solo acoustic set.

In addition, Melbourne pop-rock band Masketta Fall will be kicking things off for American Authors and Andy Grammer on the Australian leg of the tour.

Andy Grammer’s remarkable career started on the humble streets of Santa Monica, CA and quickly catapulted as he became the first male artist to hit the Top 10 on Billboard’s Adult Pop chart with his first two singles ‘Keep Your Head Up’ and ‘Fine By Me’. His infectious debut single ‘Keep Your Head Up’ (click here to watch) features in the globally acclaimed movie Pitch Perfect and is now closing in on 9 million views on Youtube and has been streamed over 8 million times on Spotify!

Since his breakthrough debut, Grammer has continued to take Australia by storm, with his latest single ‘Back Home’ becoming the #1 most added song to radio in the week of its release (click here to watch). A month since it hit the airwaves, ‘Back Home’ is tracking strongly within the Top 30 of the ARIA Charts, The Music Network’s Hot 100 and also peaked at #7 on the most Shazamed tracks chart in Australia thanks to the Channel Seven House Rules finale promo (watch the promo here).

The joyously anthemic track is the strong lead single for Grammer’s second full-length album Magazines Or Novels (out 8 August through Liberator Music), pre-empting great things from this multi-talented musician and charismatic performer:

Opening proceedings for the Australian dates will be Melbourne band Masketta Fall who formed in 2011 and have quickly proven themselves to be the ones to watch in the pop-rock music scene. Their extensive online presence led their 2012 debut Something Beautiful EP to reach #20 on the iTunes Pop Albums Charts and landed their recently released EP Parachute at #27.

In the short few months of their inception, they have supported Anberlin on their Australian tour and embarked on a headline tour of their own late last year in celebration of their Parachute EP. The band have just wrapped up a string of secret and intimate shows as well as club dates across Australia in support of their latest single ’Big Dog’ (click here to watch), pleasing fans in what they described as “a concert experience like no other!”

This will be American Authors’ first time performing in New Zealand where their fan base continues to grow along with their unquestionable ability to churn out hit after global hit like ‘Best Day Of My Life’ and ‘Believer’, as well as dominate television screens with TV performances and features on some worldwide advertising campaigns.

Frontier Touring are excited to announce Brooklyn-based alt rock band American Authors will be returning to Australia and visiting New Zealand for the first time this year to play shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

Band members Zac Barnett, James Adam Shelley, Dave Rublin and Matt Sanchez left the Berklee College of Music in Boston where they met to take their alt-rock, four-part harmonies and infectious pop sensibilities to the Big Apple as American Authors. Their honest songwriting evidently comes from the diversity that the four members bring to the table. As lead singer Zac Barnett explains the idea behind their name and work ethic:

“We’re the authors of our lives, creating music from what we’ve lived, from what we hope for, from what we feel. Every day is different and like everyone, our emotions change according to our personal highs and lows and by the challenges or triumphs that affect all of us…we’re not afraid to be goofy one day and serious the next. American Authors were in Australia for a brief visit earlier this year in support of the release of their debut album Oh, What A Life (out now through Universal) which reached #3 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart and #15 in the Billboard 200. The band performed a series of exclusive events whilst they were here including a concert at iconic Luna Park for 300 lucky fans.

Debut single ‘Best Day Of My Life’ proved to be a massive international breakthrough for the band (click here to watch), gaining worldwide success as it featured on various advertising campaigns around the world including: Hyundai in the UK and France, Telecom in New Zealand as well as for US retail home improvement giant Lowe’s which aired during the Superbowl. It also appeared on the trailer for some of this year’s cinematic releases including Delivery Man and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.  In Australia the track took a similar trajectory after being picked up by local liquor chain BWS for one of their commercials, landing in the top 15 on the radio airplay chart, top 10 on the iTunes singles chart and achieving certified platinum single sales.

The mega hit was even performed on Glee earlier this year during their ‘New New York’ episode (click here to watch) as well as being invited on Ellen to perform the anthemic tune (click here to watch). The last year has seen American Authors not only dominate the charts, television and movie screens, but also their live presence, having supported the likes of OneRepublic and The Script to being one of the most highly anticipated bands to play at SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier this year, leading to a number of sold out headline shows in the US and UK/Europe.
