Allday

Allday

Hailing from Blackwood, Adelaide and now based in Melbourne, Allday is tearing up the Australian hip hop scene and ARIA Charts with a fresh perspective, clear wit and charm, balancing smooth melodies and a unique delivery.  His debut album Startup Cult (available Friday 4 July through We Are Unified) fuses soul music, indie rock and classic hip hop influences.  Signed to Illy’s label OneTwo, the album’s first single ‘Right Now’ (check out the video here) was released last month to great acclaim and when Allday takes the stage he is equally lauded:

His raw voice and funky beats set the tone for the night and got the crowd buzzing.’ – TheMusic.com.au

No stranger to the live circuit, Allday has played Big Day Out, St Kilda Festival, Pushover, Come Together, Groovin’ The Moo and Sprung Festival along with supporting the likes of Illy, Thundamentals and Yelawolf.  These live shows, multiple mixtapes and the release of his debut EP Noue Yesue has captured triple j’s attention with track ‘So Good’ landing squarely at #91 on the triple j 2012 Hottest 100.

HEADLINE SHOWS ANNOUNCED FOR MELBOURNE & SYDNEY
+ HEADLINING SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS

In the country to headline Splendour In The Grass, Frontier Touring can confirm that the sharp-witted and ever-talented Lily Allen will be treating Melbourne’s Festival Hall and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion to headline shows this July!

No stranger to Australia, Allen’s It’s Not Me, It’s You World Tour reached Australian shores in 2009 and she performed to packed crowds on the main stage of the Big Day Out Festival the following year. Four years down the road and with a brand new album in tow, Allen will be performing her biggest Australian headline shows to date and lucky ticketholders are in for a treat.

Allen first exploded onto the scene eight years ago with her single ‘Smile’ which held its spot at the top of the UK singles charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to end the year as the UK’s 11th most successful song. This was just a taste of things to come from Allen who, at the ripe age of 21, released her Grammy-nominated debut album Alright, Still in 2006.

Her second major release It’s Not Me, It’s You came out three years later and created even bigger waves than its predecessor, debuting at number one on the UK, Canadian and Australian album charts. Leading single ‘The Fear’ held the number one position on the UK Singles Charts for four consecutive weeks and the album featured four times in triple j’s Hottest 100 – twice in 2008 for singles ‘The Fear’ and ‘F—k You’ and again in 2009 for ‘22’  and ‘Not Fair’.

This year Allen returns with conversation-starting new album Sheezus (out now through Warner/Parlophone) which she launched earlier this month at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Teaming up with Greg Kurstin (P!nk, Ellie Goulding), DJ Dahi and Shellback, Sheezus marks a triumphant return to music with Allen beaming with confidence in her craft and the joys of motherhood and family life. The first single from her third studio album ‘Hard Out Here’ (watch it here) reaffirms to fans that the charismatic and outspoken Allen is back and is taking no prisoners:

‘Sheezus, the new album that has triggered all of this lively debate, is a sparkling and vibrant affair, and finds Allen once again delivering candid personal confessionals and caustic social commentary over endearingly breezy electropop and characteristically barbed R&B’ – The Guardian

‘It’s this diversity that clinches the album’s (Sheezus) success, confirming that this is an artist with taste and opinions of her own, not just a schedule and a fanbase to satisfy’ – Independent.co.uk

After spending four years honing ideas and gaining new perspectives, Allen is back with a vengeance and ready to take on the music industry once again in the same provocative and daring manner her fans have become accustomed to. Tickets will sell fast, so get in quick to ensure you witness this show stopper in action!
