This August, Frontier Touring is excited to invite international vocal sensation Pentatonix to Australia to play headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane for the very first time!
Hailing from Arlington, Texas, Pentatonix is made up of lead vocalists Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado and Mitch Grassi, vocal bass Avi Kaplan and beatboxer Kevin ‘K.O.’ Olusola. As the winners of the third season of NBC’s ‘The Sing Off’, the quintet have taken instrument-free music to a whole new level, igniting one of the biggest online and global followings since their formation in 2011.
Bouncing off each other’s style and incredible vocal abilities, the group have evidently struck all the right chords as they meander through various genres from pop, jazz, R&B, indie, folk to dubstep and electronica.
Following their television success, the group relocated to Los Angeles to produce and release 2 EP’s – PTX Vol 1 (available via Sony Music), which peaked at #14 on the Billboard’s Top 200 and PTX Vol 2 (Sony Music), which debuted at #10 on the overall Billboard Chart and #1 on its Independent Album Chart. They also released PTXmas, which went on to become the sixth highest-selling Christmas album of 2013 (all out now via Sony Music).
Their YouTube channel boasts some of the most impressive statistics as Pentatonix are closing in on six million subscribers and 500 million views. The official video for their Daft Punk 7-song medley and lead single from their first EP has incurred over a massive 78 million views (watch Daft Punk – Pentatonix here), followed by their astounding 36-song live journey through the history of music presented in 4 minutes titled ‘Evolution of Music’ (watch the clip here). Just to highlight the enormity and speed at which Pentatonix are taking vocal music, a mere eight months ago they released their rendition and video for massive hit ‘Royals’ by Lorde (watch the clip here) and has since racked up over 37 million views!
Pentatonix have consistently dominated US television audiences having performed on programs such as Ellen and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Having recently signed to RCA Records, joining the likes of Alicia Keys, Foo Fighters and Kings Of Leon to name a few, the Pentatonix movement is not likely to slow down anytime soon.

Recently it has also been confirmed that Pentatonix will join the cast of Pitch Perfect 2 after a massive public outcry to the original movie’s producers to make it happen. The sequel to the 2012 blockbuster is due in 2015, perfect timing for fans to catch them live before they become even bigger stars!
On their recent tours they have not only sold out two tours of North America, but also their two European tours in its entirety! This will be an a capella show of the very highest calibre, consisting of nothing more than the five superhuman vocalists – not to be missed!
