announces australian shows - performing with a band for the first time!
Frontier Touring are excited to welcome back multi-talented singer-songwriter and gifted guitarist Ron Pope for his return Australian tour. This will also be the very first time Pope will be bringing his band to Australia to accompany him.
Pope burst into the scene in 2005 when he released hugely successful breakthrough single ‘A Drop In The Ocean’, which has since had over 30 million views on Youtube and 25 million streams on Spotify.
Ten independently released albums and countless singles later with over 50 million views online and over 36 million streams on Spotify, the 30 year old shows no sign of slowing down.
Pope’s music has gained worldwide acclaim, featured on shows such as ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘90210’, as well as having ‘A Drop In The Ocean’ released as a single by Javier Colon from the first season of The Voice.
His latest offering Calling Off The Dogs (out now through Pope’s very own Brooklyn Basement Records) sees Pope further extending his talents and coming up with new, fresh sounds. His new album made him an artist to watch at SXSW this year, with many people eager to not only witness his astounding vocals, but also his capabilities as a writer, composer and producer. This time round, in support of his latest album, Pope will be bringing with him a full live band!
The first single of the album, ‘Lick My Wounds’ (listen here) perfectly sets the foundation for the theme for the rest of the album. The contagiously upbeat track with refreshing pop tendencies highlights Pope’s growth and desire to challenge the alt-country/folk pop roots that drove his success.
‘In Calling Off The Dogs, Pope pushes past his comfort zone of dominating vocals to create a unique sound that new and loyal fans will appreciate.’ – SXSW 2014 Artist Spotlight
‘Ron Pope’s new album, Calling Off The Dogs sees the very successful musician attempting to push boundaries even further and exploring new territories. [Pope is] one of the highest selling independent artists on the music scene today.’ – Blast Out Your Stereo
‘Calling Off The Dogs is an emotional journey that is full of variety, including the perfect mix between inspiring ballads as well as more upbeat and edgier tracks, and let’s not forget Ron’s captivating lyrics and soothing vocals that you could just listen to all day’ – Hit The Floor 9/10
Coming off the back of SXSW and a US tour, loyal fans are not to miss the opportunity to witness this multitasking, multi-talented extraordinaire. Lucky fans will be able to see Pope perform songs from his decade long career as well as his latest works which will be sure to challenge and inspire music makers and music lovers – accompanied for the first time ever by his band!
