Jamie Lawson became an overnight success with his soulful feel-good tune ‘Wasn’t Expecting That’ after a fan sent a link to his YouTube channel to one of Ireland’s leading radio stations, Today FM. Following the airplay, Lawson went from relative unknown to topping the Irish iTunes chart and performing on The Late Late Show and Ireland AM.
As well as sold out headline shows of his own, Lawson has shared the stage with the likes of Martha Wainwright, Damien Rice, Van Morrison, Glen Hansard and Katie Melua. Most recently, Lawson teamed forces with Sheeran for his arena tour across the UK and Europe, receiving impressive reviews along the way for his heartfelt delivery and lyrics. Make sure that you catch Lawson as he appears once again as Sheeran’s special guest on his upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour.
Conrad Sewell will be opening proceedings at all of Sheeran’s Australian shows. Sewell is the latest Australian artist to join forces with Lyor Cohen’s 300 Entertainment label and recently revealed his exuberant first single ‘Hold Me Up’. Produced by Brian Lee (Lady Gaga, Icona Pop) and Louis Bell, ‘Hold Me Up’ has hit Australian airwaves and will be available for download from Friday 6 March.
Displaying an impressive command of styles encompassing pop, dance, soul and gospel, Sewell’s debut offering is due later this year. He recently told Rolling Stone USA: "Nineties music was what I grew up with, and I want to make music that's soulful, but that you can also dance and drive to."

With fifteen shows already announced for his Australian & New Zealand tour and more than 150,000 tickets sold to date, Ed Sheeran is set to delight fans in Brisbane and Perth with the announcement of new shows.
A third Brisbane date has been confirmed for Sunday 22 March at Brisbane’s Riverstage and a second concert will take place on Sunday 5 April at Perth Arena. Pre-sale tickets to the new shows will be available from Tuesday 14 October via frontiertouring.com/edsheeran while general public tickets will go on sale from 10am local time on Thursday 16 October.
Since first announcing his Australia and New Zealand tour Ed has more than doubled the number of shows for his tour, with the original eight concerts fast expanding to seventeen dates.
Sheeran will be the first musician in twenty years to undertake a headline national arena tour completely solo, with the last being the late John Denver. Accompanied on stage by only a loop pedal and his trusty acoustic guitar, his ability to fill even the biggest of rooms is testament to his unique talent and appeal as a live performer.
Allowing all fans equal opportunity to score the best seats in the house, tickets to Sheeran’s entire tour will be available for $99 (+ fees). No bells and whistles needed, Sheeran lets his soulful sounds do the talking.
Whether playing pubs or arenas, Sheeran has been a completely solo touring act for his entire career. For almost two hours, he captures the attention of his audience with not much more than his acoustic guitar and the layers of sound built from foot stomps, guitar strums and perfect harmonies.
With the triple talent of intuitive songwriting, infectious charisma and hip hop flow, it’s no surprise that Ed Sheeran’s shows have a penchant for selling out almost immediately after going on sale.

Head of Frontier Touring Michael Gudinski said “Ed wanted to ensure that his shows were accessible to all of his fans. It’s incredibly rare these days to have all tickets at one price in arena venues but Ed wanted to make it happen.”

The travelling troubadour was last in Australia earlier this year where he performed six intimate shows in two days across Melbourne and Sydney to celebrate the release of his sophomore album x (pronounced ‘multiply’, out now through Warner Music).
x, featuring lead single ‘Sing’ and its biting follow up tune ‘Don’t’, subtly pushes the boundaries of Sheeran’s Grammy-nominated debut album + (pronounced ‘plus’) and is the work of a musician who was raised on a diet of rock, folk, hip hop and R&B in equal doses.
Writing for x began three years ago, before debut album + was even released. With the help of co-producer Rick Rubin, hundreds of songs were cut down to twelve tracks that effortlessly flow between different musical styles.
Sheeran called on the likes of hip hop trailblazer Pharrell Williams, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, and Foy Vance to collaborate on the album and co-producer credits include Benny Blanco (Maroon 5, Katy Perry) alongside Rick Rubin.
