Frontier Touring regret to advise that due to unforeseen circumstances Jamie Lawson has regrettably been forced to cancel his upcoming tour of New Zealand – two shows in Auckland and Christchurch.

Currently in Australia and wrapping up shows there this week, Jamie said of the cancellation, “I’m so sorry New Zealand that I can’t perform for you this weekend. I loved my last visit there and was really looking forward to coming back… I hope to see you all sometime in the not too distant future.”

Following the announcement that celebrated British singer/songwriter Jamie Lawson will return to Australian and New Zealand stages this autumn, Frontier Touring is pleased to confirm that fellow UK rising star Ryan Keen will join the tour as special guest on all shows.

After supporting his good pal Ed Sheeran across Europe throughout in 2015 at several stadium shows – both singers having earned their chops playing university union bars many years ago – it’s been a huge 12 months for the ‘Skin And Bones’ singer. Keen is no stranger to the stage, having already performed alongside household names such as Ben Howard, Plan B, Newtown Faulkner and Leona Lewis. He spent the second half of last year playing sold-out headline shows across Europe, from Prague to Paris to Tallinn (Estonia), celebrating and showcasing his impressive debut album – Room For Light (out via Warner Music Australia).

Following on from its December 2013 release, and the home-grown success of tracks such as ‘Orella’ (watch it live here), ‘Focus’ and ‘All This Time’, Keen left a strong impression on local fans last time he was down under. His previous visit to Australian shores in 2014 saw him play intimate headline shows as well as larger venues as the national tour support for Kate Miller-Heidke. With his virtuosic guitar and intimate, warm vocals, the former Westminster University student is not to be missed.

Keen’s self-released debut EP Aiming For The Sun led him to a coveted spot at South By Southwest in 2011, followed by a deal with Imagem, one of the world’s largest independent music publishers, before dropping EPs Focus (2012) and Back To The Ocean (2013).

Having wowed fans with his latest, eponymous release and huge radio hits like ‘I Wasn’t Expecting That’ and ‘Ahead Of Myself’, Jamie Lawson’s current UK tour is selling out and moving to bigger venues, while last month appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Today Show in the US.

Having initially played to over 175,000 fans as Sheeran’s guest, Lawson quickly cemented himself as an artist to watch when his runaway hit ‘Wasn’t Expecting That’ conquered airwaves globally. It had previously reached #3 in Ireland, and in April the track rocketed to #3 on the ARIA Singles chart, #2 on iTunes Singles Chart and #1 on iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart, attaining double platinum single status. Similarly in New Zealand, the track hit #7 on the Top 40 singles chart.

This August, Lawson undertook his first ever headline dates in Australia and NZ – shows quickly selling out, with second dates added in some cities to satisfy demand. 

Featuring ‘Wasn’t Expecting That’ and his latest hit, ‘Ahead Of Myself’, Lawson’s self-titled album was released in October 2015 through Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records/Warner Music. Lawson’s fans have again wholeheartedly showed their support with the LP debuting at #4 in the Australia and at #3 in New Zealand.
