PROLIFIC SONGWRITER + POP SENSATION ANNOUNCES DEBUT AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE SHOWS THIS SEPTEMBER!

WITH SPECIAL GUEST RHYS LEWIS

Frontier Touring are excited to announce that American pop knockout and Grammy nominee Julia Michaels will be touching down in Australia for a run of shows this September! Fresh off the back of Australian dates supporting Keith Urban on his Graffiti U World Tour, the prolific singer and songwriter will take centre stage later in the year for her very first Australian headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Melbourne fans can catch Michaels at The Forum on Wednesday 4 September before she performs at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Thursday 5 September and Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Saturday 7 September.

Her latest release Inner Monologue Part I dropped on January 25 (through Republic Records) and features ‘Anxiety’ which was the #1 Most Added song at Australian radio last week.

“Couldn’t be more nervous if I tried,” she wrote on social media when announcing the record. “But here’s a piece of my mind and my heart.”

Known for her incredible ability to put those difficult-to-understand feelings into words, such vulnerability from the artist herself can only mean one thing - that this promises to be her most passionate, powerful, and personal body of work yet.

The release of Inner Monologue Part I right before a headline tour of the US and a massive run of dates with P!NK means that her live show will be well and truly perfected by the time she arrives down under.

The 2018 iHeart Music Awards Best New Artist Award nominee has enjoyed considerable success in Australia, with her debut single and breakout hit ‘Issues’ already five times ARIA Platinum, ‘Heaven’ certified ARIA Platinum, and ‘Jump (feat. Trippie Redd)’ and ‘Uh Huh’ both certified ARIA Gold.

Her solo music caught the world’s attention in an instant. Her first release, ‘Issues’, reached #5 on the ARIA charts, #11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Song of the Year, while ‘Heaven’ was featured on the soundtrack for Fifty Shades Freed. Her most recent single ‘Jump (feat. Trippie Redd)’ has already cracked 100 million streams. To top it all off, she rounded out the 2018 Grammys with a nomination for Best New Artist.

Her surge into the spotlight began in 2015, when she transitioned from behind-the-scenes songwriter into an artist in her own right — while continuing to crank out the hits with a myriad of artists. She’s co-written tracks with Selena Gomez (‘Bad Liar’), Justin Bieber (‘Sorry’), Ed Sheeran (‘Dive’), Linkin Park (‘Heavy’), Gwen Stefani (‘Used To Love You’), Fifth Harmony (‘Miss Movin’ On’), Britney Spears (‘Slumber Party (feat. Tinashe)’), Kelly Clarkson (‘War Paint’), Nick Jonas (‘Close (feat. Tove Lo)’), Shawn Mendes (‘Nervous’) and Demi Lovato (‘Fire Starter’). Michaels also features on Lauv’s ‘There’s No Way’, 5 Seconds of Summer’s ‘Lie To Me’, Clean Bandit’s ‘I Miss You’, Keith Urban’s ‘Coming Home’, and alongside Noah Kahan on ‘Hurt Somebody’.

With a stack of illustrious tours under her belt alongside superstars Maroon 5, Niall Horan, Shawn Mendes, and now Australia's own Keith Urban, and a US run scheduled for later this year with P!NK, it’s no wonder that Michaels has accrued more than two billion streams globally.

There’s no doubt about it - Julia Michaels is a pop prodigy. Don’t miss what will likely be your last chance to see an artist of such calibre in such intimate venues. Tickets will disappear like lightning.
